George Rodrigue and his Blue Dogs
Description:
Join us for a one week spring break camp where we will look at the artwork of George Rodrigue and his famous blue dog paintings. Even if you haven't heard George's name you'll recognize this iconic image from books, magazines , and restaurants across the country. We will learn about Rodrigue's hometown of New Orleans, his love of cajun food and culture, and how he came up with the blue dog's that became a sensation. Each student will begin by creating their very own collage of blue dog while learning about Rodrigue's techniques with color and shape. We will finish by creating our own original paintings inspired by Rodrigue's work.
