Before school begins we have decided to add one more Pet Portraits tiny camp! 

We will work on a couple favorite projects and make sure our students have a great, creative and fun time at the studio, although just for a couple of days.

About this course

This engaging course is tailored for children ages 12 and up, focusing on the intricate art of still life and the study of color. Students will explore the beauty of everyday objects and learn how to bring them to life through vibrant color techniques.

Why Still Life?

Still life art is fundamental in developing an artist's skills. It teaches observation, attention to detail, and the ability to capture the essence of objects. Working with still life helps students understand composition, light, shadow, and texture, providing a solid foundation for all other art forms. By studying still life, young artists can hone their technical abilities and enhance their appreciation for the beauty in everyday objects.

Class Experience

At Sunflower, we encourage our students to work on creative projects that spark their passions, so they can feel successful and accomplished. We support students throughout the process of choosing an art project and completing a full painting (or drawing) with the understanding that each individual student works at their own pace and skill level. We offer visual inspiration, explain different techniques and foster love of the arts and art history. While working in a group setting, our students get to explore their own creativity with the help of our knowledgeable and wonderful teachers.

When

Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday 10 - 2pm

Class Experience

The idea of this program is to offer home schooled children a half-day experience that incorporates creative projects, social connections, play-based experiences and movement. Children have time and space to explore interpersonal relationships, as well as connect to themselves through quiet, creative spaces. We work on numerous projects as a group, individual projects and expressive art activities. In addition, we work to support children with diverse capabilities and needs, honoring each child as a unique individual through their growth and learning at the studio.

• 10 - 12pm for 10. and under

• 12:30 - 2:30pm for 10and up
